We're working our way up Finlayson Channel. We had a following wind for a while that gave us a boost when we unfurled the genoa.
Unfortunately that following wind also blew a driving rain into the cockpit with no place to hide. We're making good time though, even if we're cold and damp.
We're headed for Bottleneck inlet tonight. Kevin expressed concern about the depth of the entrance, citing one source claiming it more shallow than the others do. Who ever gets there first will take a look.
Bottleneck inlet is on Roderick Island. Woot!
The wind perked up, but by the time we pulled the sails out had faded again. It's giving us a half knot of boat speed on average, so we'll leave them out, even if the speed and direction are changing constantly.
The sea state has improved substantially. We're way up in the inlet now, protected from wind and ocean swell.
Matt put the kettle on and we each made a mug of hot ramen - a yummy way to warm hands and insides.
The lentil soup was as good as it always is: loaded with Italian sausage, spinach, carrots, spices and garlic. We needed to use the avocados we bought in CR, so we put a whole chopped avocado in each of our bowls. And sour cream.
