Sunshine and Pie

Finally a clear day. It's sunny, warm and, best of all: dry.

We just cleared Meyers Passage, a narrow, shallow, kelp clogged cut that saves us from circling Swindle Island. Half a dozen speed boats passed us along the way. It definitely sees its share of traffic.

Samantha crewed on Quijote with us today. Sam's from Sydney, BC. Welcome to Quijote Sam.

Tonight's anchorage is Alston Cove, a 34 mile day. We wanted to hit the narrows at slack, so we didn't depart Bottleneck until after 9:30. Hopefully we'll have enough time at Alston to do something in this sun.

We did some sailing today. That gets a big high five. Silent running.

Sam and Matt did time in the dinghy, while I'm I plotted our routes for the next few days. Rather than wait for them to return to start dinner, I poached off Opus and had dinner with them: a veggie pasta dish that was delish.

When S&M returned there was plenty of leftovers of previous Quijote meals for them.

We followed up the meals with pecan pie purchased in Campbell River. The pie was quite good. Good enough anyway.
