What Weather?

For all the worry about wind and waves going around Cape Caution, the rounding itself was a non issue, the weather a dud. The wind remained at 5 kts or less for most of the day, with occasional gusts to 8 kts.

We got under way early, hoping to outrun conditions that never came, at least not to us. I'm not complaining. We'll take those conditions every time please.

We had jambalaya cooked in the pressure cooker for dinner tonight. I have to say, it turned out exceptionally well. We could hardly call it jambalaya though, there were so many substitutions. No shrimp, no sausages, no scallions, no green bell peppers, no problem! We had ground pork, chicken, onion and red bell peppers instead. I might have to do it that way again.

Tomorrow we'll sleep in and sail or motor just 22 miles to Claydon Bay. We're in Blunden Harbour tonight for anyone keeping score. It's a rather large anchorage that serves as a good staging area for boats going around the Cape.
