extra days

We have a couple days to kill before we return to Shearwater that are the result of leaving Haida Gwaii before our itinerary indicated. Had we stayed another day or three, the passage across Hecate Strait would have been hellabumpy. That's a technical term. I'll leave the translation as an exercise for the reader. The upshot is that we can either Lolllygag on our way to Shearwater, or arrive early. If we arrive early, will we depart early? Quien sabe, but those are the pressing questions that demand answers of our hero. We probably will leave early and perhaps do something bold with the extra days, like maybe visit Princess Louisa Inlet and do the waterfall hike. Or maybe we'll do the Shearwater hike if the weather is favorable for it. I guess we'll wait to see if we arrive in Shearwater a couple days early as we anticipate.

So we're taking our time today, revisiting Bottleneck cove - one of the anchorages we rafted up to Opus in on the way North.

Opus had some mechanical issues on their way in to Ketchikan and the crew dispersed, leaving Kevin to fix the boat and do some recruiting to get the boat home again. It's possible that we'll see Opus when we're in Shearwater, but probably not if we arrive early and he holds up waiting for new crew.

Pressure cooker Mac and cheese for dinner tonight. A favorite! It's super cheesy.
Last night Chuck made Mexican Chicken Stew for dinner. It was excellent and left us with plenty of leftovers.
